lyrics
The worlds on fire, but I am fine
Thanks to a bottle of cheap red wine
There are some
Wolves among us, wich bare there teeth
But I'm shaking no more hands baby before I leave
The glas is half empty, but still I smile
Ain't no more waltz honey, the world is vile
They all say
I'm the saviour, believe me it's fine
Give me your water and I sell you wine
But they're just sheeps that are dressed in black,
Waiting for the walls to crack
Caught up with Jesus and a liar
All I see is a fragile world on fire
I turn my back at the wolves in the walls
They're all saints and they wait 'til you faint
from your beliefs ... and accept they're peace
Oh I hear you warmongers preaching love
Hand out some fire arms, shoot them white doves
Full metal jackets from the hand that feeds
I better get more tranquil while you do your dirty deeds
Caught up with Jesus and a liar
All I see is a fragile world on fire
I turn my back at the wolves in the walls
They're all saints and they wait 'til you faint
from your beliefs ... and accept they're peace

How lucky of me to find this band, and what a shame it took them 8 albums for me to find them. In particular, I love the swagger/frivolity of their playing.
Also the delicacy of the guitarist on some tracks (reminds of Stone Rebel at times)

Combining crooned murder ballads with raw, angsty hard rock hooks, Melbourne's The Ugly Kings are a wrecking crew well worth watching. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 15, 2021
